I think what in the past has held me back from connecting with others has been my own insecurities, my own preconceptions, and my fears.  I've worked to overcome this by sending out positive energy to the universe and asking to be drawn to those who may need my strengths and those who can help improve my weaknesses.

My divorce.  Or rather the 2 years leading up to it.  But I'm not sure I've technically "weathered" it - it's still a rotten festering piece of crap that I have to deal with but I'm alive and my child is happy & healthy.

A glimpse of myself

Sometimes single moms get a break.  I realized tonight that I've made some real progress in the last year. I bought a home for me and my son.  While working full-time I've started my own business keeping books for a couple of clients.  I've taken a college course.  And I'm starting to remember what it feels like to be me.

My first memory is of a beautiful Fall morning in Virginia.  I was being carried along as my Mother walked my older Sister to school.  There was what seemed to me an enormous oak tree on one corner and I remember being amazed at the light filtering down from the bright morning Sun.
